Online Admission

Admission Rules and Eligibility:

Admission to any class will be strictly on the basis of merit and accordance with of the first ordinance of HP University, 1973(Clause 1.4 Chapter 1). Any student seeking admission in the college in any faculty/course has to fulfil the following eligibility conditions/rules (Clause 3.3A of Chapter 3 Vol. 1) of the Ordinance of HP University.

Academic Qualifications:

B.A. I (Pass Course). Any student who has passed:

10+2 examination or an equivalent examination from any recognise board/university established by law in Indian with at least 33 percent marks, or

Intermediate examination of an Indian University/Board or any examination recognised equivalent there to with at least 33 percent marks.

B.Com. I (Pass Course)

To be eligible for seeking admission in B.Com. I pass course, the candidate should have passed 10+2 examination in Commerce stream with minimum 40 percent marks are eligible for admission, or

A student who has passed 10+2 or equivalent exam other than Commerce stream in four subjects including English with Economics or Maths as compulsory subject at 10+2 level with 45 percent marks is eligible for admission.

For girl candidate, the eligibility is pass percentage, i.e. 33 percent.

Important: No compartment case at 10+2 level will be considered eligible for admission in any stream.

Age Limit

For admission to the first year of any course, a student must not be more than 23 years (25 years for girls) of age on 1 July 2019 e.g. the applicant should not be born earlier than 01.07.1996 in case of boys and 01.07.1994 in case of girls. However, in respect of SC and ST students a relaxation of 3 years is given.

The Vice-Chancellor of HPU Shimla has the power to permit age relaxation up to a maximum of 6 months. All such cases could provisionally be granted age relaxation up to 6 months by the Principal and a consolidated list o such cases be sent for approval of the Vice-Chancellor by 31st October of every academic year. A candidate who has availed age relaxation at the time of first admission shall be eligible for the same in subsequent classes also.

Roll-on Admission

Admission is open for all students on roll on Basis, who are otherwise eligible without waiting for the final result. Roll On system means the student who has appeared in the 1st year and 4th Semester will go to the 2nd year and 5th Semester as per the schedule without waiting for result of 1st year and 4th semester. However, he/she will have to fulfil all the formalities laid down by the college authorities, like failing up the admission form, if any, and depositing the prescribed fees.
